Revolutionary Confessions

Confessions are currently: CLOSED

Welcome to Revolutionary Confessions, for all your Utena expressing needs! Whether it's regarding the anime, manga, movie, or maybe even us crazy fans, feel free to confess away.
(But please take the time to read the rules first!)

Keep in mind there are spoilers around here. If you're in the process of watching the series, I'd highly suggest not looking any further than this, or at least make sure you have the tag "spoilers" blocked, which bigger spoilers will be tagged with.

Screenshots and artwork are either provided from my own DVDs, or taken from Empty Movement's amazing gallery.

I would like the movie if Shiori was in love with Juri and not with Touga.

I just found out that Akio Ohtori himself is our number one fan.

This blog was doomed all along!

I used to hate manga!Juri for being so shallow and immature compared with her series counterpart. I still don’t like her manga self, but I’ve let go of the hate since I realised that series!Juri wasn’t THAT much more mature.

I really identify with Wakaba.

After years of loving sku and loving the complex tragedy that is Juri, that my relationships have mirrored hers. From the betrayer girl who chases and hurts while claiming love to the upperclassman who pushed so hard to make me fix my own problems.

I hate Akio’s giant green ping pong ball of a hair tie.

If there’s going to be a call to stop all het shipping in Utena, I think the same thing should happen to the yaoi shipping as well. Much like all the straight pairings, every male/male relationship in the series is horribly abusive in some way, including fan favorites like Touga/Saionji. Honestly, only the yuri ships are actually salvageable.

My view on Touga changed since I read he was raped by his adoptive father. Before, I was neutral to him but now I feel kinda sorry for him.

Hey, all you smashers of the world’s shell!

The blog is more popular than ever, which is lovely to see. In just a little more than a week, 52 confessions are currently waiting to be posted. I’ve decided that, in order for the queue and waiting time to not get as absurdly long as before, from now on I’ll be closing the ask box every time we hit 40 confessions. Then, once the queue goes down, I’ll open it again. I will of course be making a small announcement for every time it closes and opens, so don’t worry about that.

I admit that I’m not terribly fond of how quickly I have to close the ask box, (actually, I’m not fond of closing it at all.) but it’s at least better than building up a queue where people will have to wait months for their confession to show up, you know?

Thanks as always for keeping the blog active and running!

I’m so sick of the onslaught of the Juri/Shiori/Ruka “confessions” clogging the page, I love these characters but last time I checked this was a confession blog not a Utena forum discussion about them. Because frankly that’s what it turns into everytime someone makes an slightly unpopular opinion of any of them or their relationship (and the trolls god the trolls).
