Revolutionary Confessions

Confessions are currently: OPEN

Welcome to Revolutionary Confessions, for all your Utena expressing needs! Whether it's regarding the anime, manga, movie, or maybe even us crazy fans, feel free to confess away.
(But please take the time to read the rules first!)

Keep in mind there are spoilers around here. If you're in the process of watching the series, I'd highly suggest not looking any further than this, or at least make sure you have the tag "spoilers" blocked, which bigger spoilers will be tagged with.

Screenshots and artwork are either provided from my own DVDs, or taken from Empty Movement's amazing gallery.

I feel like fans can be a little too hard on the characters (with the exceptions of Akio and Mikage), male or female. They’re all young people who have crap situations and are trying to find their way in the world. Do they do bad things? Well yeah, and those things should NOT be excused, but the characters themselves shouldn’t be eternally pinned up and repeatedly crucified for them.

Whenever I see too many negative confessions, I end up submitting light-hearted, fluffy or funny ones as an attempt to calm things down (I know it doesn’t really work tough…)

I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve been thinking about writing a RWBY/Utena crossover

I hope Tsuwabuki never meet Nanami’s and Touga’s adoptive father.

The levels of self-projection, fauxminism and crazy SJW-rethoric in some confessions kinda scare me.

I wonder how much of the Akio hate comes from Akio’s ACTUAL character, and how much comes from fans projecting their own emotional/psychological/etc. isues on him. I also bet that the Bepapas people created his chara KNOWING that this would be the result.

I detest how the SKU/RGU fans take complex characters with different motivations and paths… only to reduce them to flimsy, boring stereotypes.

I believe Miki got reincarnated as a sheep.

I don’t think Ruka would get as much hate if he were a woman. Shiori and him do VERY similar things (remember Shiori using Juri’s old boyfriend? among other things). I don’t understand people who bash Ruka and support Shiori and I don’t think I ever will.

I don’t know why the cliches in the Utena manga make so many people so angry. I think they’re funny! The manga is entertaining, even though it’s not complex.
